I'm an IMC marketing director (integrated marketing communications) who's worked on print, broadcast, web, PPC, and 1:1 projects ranging from 3-strip banner flights to £3m customer relationship management programmes. But it all starts with the words: I'm a copywriter at heart.

  What I do is create customer acquisition and retention campaigns for SMEs according to a proper marketing plan, which is a fuzzy way of saying I write stuff for companies with budgets below £200K. (See some examples.) I do it thanks to a decade-plus of experience with ad agencies and marketers worldwide.
  That decade was spent as a copywriter and creative director in New York, San Francisco, Tokyo, Hongkong, Singapore, Paris, and London, writing over 200 campaigns for some of the world's biggest marketers including IBM, Unilever, and American Express. (See the book.) Which led to judging the One Show Interactive (a top awards show) and winning a WPP Atticus among others. I've also designed the information architecture (?) and user experience (?) of several big web applications including Corrobbo, Janglegene, and the 150,000 pageviews/ month hobby project espresso stories.
  Several thousand people a month read my personal site, chrisworth.com, while a bunch of essays on web marketing have reached over 300,000 people. I've also written a Special Letter of the insider's newsletter SNS, read by over 10,000 technology CEOs and VCs, and written speeches for the CEO of a global top 10 ad agency. On the academic front, I have an MBA from top business school Warwick.

  Away from work and the web, I'm a keen hobbyist skydiver and triathlete, and most days I'll swim 1500m, run 10km, cycle 40km, or jump out of a plane if there's one handy. I try to keep my travel experience topped up - right now it's European capitals at weekends - and I'm also a Burner, having a thing about deserts.
  At other times, I've explored most of the world's interesting bits - including much of Southeast Asia, where I learned the secret to getting ideas, and a number of jungles and deserts solo.
